Our Pastor

Pervis L. Brown
Senior Pastor
Pervis Lavell Brown is a native of Chicago, Illinois where he lived until he graduated from High School. Several years after joining the military, he enrolled at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Pervis graduated Magna Cum Laude when he received his B.A. Degree in History. His love of history led him to continue his studies at the University of Michigan. He has his M.A. Degree in History and has completed all requirements except his dissertation for his Ph.D. in History at the University of Michigan.
After working in church leadership positions for more than 20 years, Pervis was called to Sweet Canaan Baptist Church in Piedmont, SC and served as the Senior Pastor for more than ten years. A move with the Georgia Army National Guard led him to transition from Sweet Canaan to Fortified City Christian Church in Acworth, GA, where he serves as the Senior Pastor.
In addition to serving as a pastor, Pervis has served for more than thirty-five years in the military. His current rank is that of Lieutenant Colonel in the Georgia Army National Guard where he works as the Chief of Operations of the Joint Operation Center for the Georgia Department of Defense. Pastor Brown currently serves as the Historian for the Cobb County SCLC as well as consults the Cobb County Democracy Center on policy and civic education.
Take the next step.
We want to see people love God, love people, and change the world.
